If you wander around in the woods and fields up here in the north country you often come across unexpected sights such as this old, abandoned saw mill. I once came upon an old Model A Ford car in the middle of a woods with trees growing around and through it. If it weren't for the trees it looked like it could be driven away. I'll skip the boring historical stuff. At 90 years old it is a pain to recite all that. I did obtain a degree from the University of Illinois, served in two branches of the U.S. military and had a fairly thorough training in drawing and art. I also had some considerable business experience. My paintings are not meant to convey some deep message that I feel the world should share. They are just an interpretation of what I see, a celebration of the wonderful life and world God has given all of us. I try to choose subjects and create paintings that allow you to lose yourself in them and want to return to them many times. If I achieve that, your mind will generate your own interpretation and the painting will have a message, but...
