I became fascinated with the variations in color and texture of the corn in this crib. Then I had the silly thought that this corn had been thrown in jail; thus the title for this painting.

Ken Marsden

I'll skip the boring historical stuff. At 90 years old it is a pain to recite all that. I did obtain a degree from the University of Illinois, served in two branches of the U.S. military and had a fairly thorough training in drawing and art. I also had some considerable business experience. My paintings are not meant to convey some deep message that I feel the world should share. They are just an interpretation of what I see, a celebration of the wonderful life and world God has given all of us. I try to choose subjects and create paintings that allow you to lose yourself in them and want to return to them many times. If I achieve that, your mind will generate your own interpretation and the painting will have a message, but...
